This is a very powerful and moving piece and I see where he's coming from. But as our African ancestors knew, words do have power. As a black woman, I won't allow either nigga or nigger to have the power to make me angry and hate a white man or any person who uses the word. It's
 not a special word to be used on specials days and it's not fucking 'he who must not be named'. It's a word that hurt and enslaved my ancestors and that's why I don't use it that much. But it will NOT control me either!

@DogFaceHunter you are not right. Nigger derives from negro meaning black in Spanish. Latin terms were commonly used by the English. They referred to Indians and people dark in colors as neggars later changed to nigger!l You know good and damn well this man is talking how whites and blacks

This poem is great & I respect his art but I disagree. Who used the word "NIgga" before the slave master? They didn't create the term..they only demonized it. nigger, noir, negre, nigga, negro, black, dark colored skin is
 all the same thing. Educate yourself. Although I don't use the word, I've learned to stop judging people who do.
